Losing collagen and elastin in the skin is a natural part of ageing, but we can slow down visible signs of the ageing process with anti-wrinkle or Botulinum injections. Natural Radiance has a team of skincare specialists that provide treatments that can instantly plump the skin and reduce tell-tale signs of fatigue, that may otherwise be unavoidable.
If you’d like skin that looks naturally smoother, younger and more radiant, consider dermal fillers or anti-wrinkle injections in our Casey and Rowville clinics.
What are Anti-wrinkle injections?
The treatment uses a muscle relaxant protein known as Botulinum toxin. The solution treats the lines caused by muscle movement, known as dynamic lines. The toxin is injected into the skin in minute amounts to relax the muscles, to stop unwanted lines from forming.
When you want to treat frown or forehead lines, or crow’s feet, this effective treatment provides a semi-permanent solution that temporarily relaxes the muscles.
What Areas can be Treated?
We offer anti-wrinkle injections in Melbourne South, including Casey and Rowville, which are most commonly used to treat crow’s feet, frown lines and forehead lines. The procedure can also be used to lift the eyebrows, elevate the corners of the mouth, reduce gummy smiles and soften obvious tendons in the neck.
Anti-wrinkle injections can also reduce muscle bulk at the corner of the jaw, for those that wish to refine and slim their jawline (masseter muscles). They help reduce teeth grinding (bruxism) and are the gold standard for treating underarm and hand sweating (hyperhidrosis).
How do Anti-wrinkle Injections Work?
The active protein temporarily blocks the chemical messengers that activate targeted facial muscles responsible for wrinkling. Over time, the reduced muscle contraction relaxes the overlying skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles – so you can welcome younger-looking, smoother skin.
For this reason, Anti-wrinkle injections only work on wrinkles caused by movement, known as “dynamic wrinkles”.
Is it Safe?
Anti-wrinkle injections are safe when administered by a medical professional trained in its use, as all registered practitioners and doctors in our Rowville and Casey clinics are.
As with all treatments, side effects may occur but are mostly mild and temporary. Slight pain, tenderness and bruising may follow a wrinkle reduction session, and, in some cases, a slight headache afterwards is reported, though this is uncommon. Rare complications of excessive effects such as droopy brows or eyelids, or double vision, may occur.
Do Anti-wrinkle Injections Hurt?
The needles we use are extremely fine and the treatment lasts just a few minutes (depending on the areas treated). Any discomfort experienced is minimal and can be eased with a cold pack if necessary.
How Long do Anti-wrinkle Injections Last?
The effects of facial injections typically last three to four months, but this can be extended with ongoing treatment. Results depend on each client and how deep and permanent facial lines have become.
